Sep 11, 2003 - The pgp signature (.asc) file that was on alpha.gnu.org
isn't there any more, I'm guessing since ftp.gnu.org
(which hosts alpha too AFAIK) was cracked, replaced
verification with it with a "verified" md5sum from
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/before-2003-08-01.md5sums.asc
(it matches a tarball I have from June 4th)
- Don't re-download the patch if applying it fails (wget -nc)
- Added prerequisites
- Create ~/installed with mode 700
- Updated some of the notes to include the fact that
Slackware 9.0 comes with slocate and the findutils package
does not include GNU locate any more
- Instead of running 'make install' then strip on the
installed binaries, just run 'make install-strip'

but there is a new maintainer (and now you can get it from
alpha.gnu.org)
